Ein grosser Wunsch ist heute in Erfüllung gegangen: Die Air Force One kam nach Zürich. Leider hatte allerdings die Boeing 747 kurz nach dem Start einen technischen Defekt. Und da die zweite 747 bereits länger ausser Gefecht ist, kam die Ersatzmaschine Boeing 757, C-32A. Ja da kann man nichts machen. Sehr schade, aber so war es…
Das zweite „leider“ kommt auch noch gleich: Genau zum Zeitpunkt der Landung hatte ich Probleme mit dem Fotoapparat und konnte kein Foto schiessen. Die Aufnahmen sind nur mit dem Telefon gemacht. Tja, so kann es einem manchmal gehen.
1 Stunde nach der Landung von Donald Trump konnte ich dank 2 anderen Spottern noch die Air Force Two fotografieren. Sehr viele Kilometer entfernt – aber hey, immerhin. Ein grosses Spektakel war es trotzdem.

Air Force One ist kein einzelnes Flugzeug, sondern der Rufname jedes US-Air-Force-Jets, in dem der Präsident fliegt. Meist handelt es sich um eine speziell ausgerüstete Boeing 747-200 (VC-25A) – ein fliegendes Regierungszentrum mit Kommunikations-, Sicherheits- und Verteidigungssystemen. Für kürzere Strecken kommen oft Boeing 757 (C-32A) zum Einsatz, etwa für den Vizepräsidenten oder Delegationen. Beide Flugzeugtypen stehen für Mobilität, Sicherheit und weltweite Einsatzfähigkeit.

A big wish came true today: Air Force One arrived in Zurich. Unfortunately, the Boeing 747 suffered a technical malfunction shortly after takeoff. And since the second 747 has been out of service for some time, the replacement aircraft, a Boeing 757, C-32A, was used. Well, nothing can be done about it. A real shame, but that’s how it was…
The second „unfortunately“ is coming right up: Right at the moment of landing, I had problems with my camera and couldn’t take a picture. The photos are only taken with my phone. Well, that’s how it goes sometimes.
An hour after Donald Trump’s landing, thanks to two other plane spotters, I was able to photograph Air Force Two. Many kilometers away – but hey, still. It was quite a spectacle nonetheless.
